Not all migraines are the same
Migraines are common, but they are inherently diverse within an individual patient and across the patient population as a whole.
As a headache specialist, I cannot emphasize enough that migraines are not identical across the board for patients. There exists a complex differential not only in the type of migraine, frequency, and severity of symptoms i.e. head pain, nausea, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, dizziness, fatigue, brain fog, etc., but also the nature of onset and evolution of symptomatology in the time course of each migraine. These are just a few, out of a veritable expanse of possible variables. Triggers abound and may differ considerably for a patient each time.
As migraine is a multi-faceted neurological condition so unsurprisingly, effective treatment is too. What works for one person may not work for another. What works at one time for a person may not always.
Listening to a patient’s unique history is essential to finding the most effective and treatment for that individual patient.
