My Story

Long before medicine, I trained as a concert pianist, debuting as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Academy of Music. The physical rigor of musical training brought on what were then thought to be repetitive stress injuries.

By high school, debilitating pain and other symptoms that no specialist could piece together or treat ended my musical career. The chronic pain that arrived in place of musical studies stayed undiagnosed for years.

I vowed to become the doctor I needed, earning entry to Brown University’s Program in Liberal Medical Education, the only guaranteed undergraduate-medical school program of its kind in the Ivy League. I focused my studies on Neuroscience and specifically chronic pain physiology, including a year at Oxford under leading researchers in the field.

As my studies progressed, a gutting question loomed: would chronic pain force me to forfeit my spot in medical school, or could I get better?

I didn’t. The pain only worsened, but I knew I would regret not trying. I suffered in silence - stoic, gritting through it - determined to become the physician specializing in the brain and nervous system alongside the very best.

Ultimately, I diagnosed my own condition - migraine complicated by myofascial pain, the legacy of old musical injuries, compounded by the physical toll of medical training.

Today, I fulfilled my vow to “heal thyself”. With my piano fingers - precise, practiced, and built for exactly this kind of work - I treat the pain at its root with injections, in the right locations. I meet each patient at the nerve, where the pain actually lives. My passion is helping others who suffer like I did, offering the solutions I wished I had.

Training & Experience

After medical school, I trained at NYU Langone Health in Manhattan - ranked #1 in the nation for Neurology and Neurosurgery by US News & World Report - and directly with the pioneer of headache medicine, the first headache-fellowship-trained neurologist in the U.S.

The training was gritty and unglamorous. It was fast-paced work across three vastly different, high-volume Manhattan hospital centers, including NYU Langone and historic Bellevue. Bellevue takes every patient who walks through its doors, every language, diagnosis, and emergency, from the unhoused and incarcerated to the most affluent.

I learned to triage under pressure. Around-the-clock shifts, often run as a one-person show, taught me to identify, quickly, what’s actually wrong: Stroke? Brain bleed? Brain tumor? Spinal cord compression? Migraine?

Throughout training, I lived with my own chronic pain, which only worsened under the demands of pushing patients in stretchers, running from one stroke code to another, and performing chest compressions. There was no option to say no; patients’ lives were in my hands.

I mastered history-taking and physical exams, how to advocate fiercely for patients, and rounded into an astute diagnostician devoted to the full scope of my patients’ care.

What that training produced is the quality patients now benefit from most: I don’t miss things. Migraine is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed conditions. I know how to tell what it actually is.

I came to South Jersey to build a headache subspecialty program from scratch at Virtua Neuroscience - the first of its kind in the area.

In late 2025, I opened Park Your Headache, to be able to truly “call the shots” for my patients.

How the Practice Works

Left untreated, migraine and chronic pain worsen, often into refractory disability. While patients wait for the right care, they lose their ability to function, work, and participate in their own lives - and the burden ripples out to impact everyone around them.

In addition to being commonly misdiagnosed, migraine is often inadequately treated. Migraine care offered almost everywhere else amounts to a pill rotation: try one for a couple of months, try another, repeat. 

My practice is the opposite - a small, precise menu of treatments, performed by hand, with craft and skill, the same day a patient needs them. I treat hundreds of primary headache disorders including migraine and associated pain disorders including myofascial, jaw, facial, neck, shoulder, and back pain.

The heart of my practice is injection treatment: occipital nerve blocks, trigger point injections, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks, and peripheral nerve injections.

Most clinics use the same handful of injection sites for every patient; I tailor injections to precise points customized to each patient’s needs. This approach is significantly more labor-intensive, but results in the difference between "took the edge off for a week" and lasting relief.

But my care is not administered only via the needle. Injections can be uncomfortable. I’ve calibrated methods to maximize their therapeutic value - talking patients through every step, adjusting on the fly, being direct, being a cheerleader when needed.

I treat patients the way I would my own family, prioritizing each patient’s long-term best interest.

What This Practice Doesn't Promise

There is no single cure for migraine. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.

Migraine is complex and varies patient to patient - there's no silver bullet. What my practice offers is sustained, specialized management by an expert in the field - distilled methods, refined over years, which enable a patient to turn the corner from disabling pain to a much more manageable life. Patients are educated, supported, and equipped to fortify themselves to regain control of a life pain has taken over.

The goal isn't to mask pain, but to rehabilitate the patient. For me, this is personal.

The source of my strength is not just the clinical expertise, but also the resilience exhibited by my own origin story: I was the patient who found the answers myself and went on to become the expert. I beat the odds.
